2002 Dodge Dakota Question: my dakota is stuck in four wheel drive

tested wires at trans and got no power truck will not come out of four wheel drive

    As you know if you drive the truck on a "normal" road (no snow or sand) it will damage the 4WD components by putting undo stress on everything. I don't know what to tell you to look at first to see if the problem is external or external to the transmission. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....
