Question: My cruise control stops working on its own.

Will be working then if slow down or stop cruise wont resume or reset. Then will be unresponsive to any control.

    THAT MIGHT BE A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH PROBLEM. FORDS ARE KNOWN FOR THIS AND IV SEEN RECALLS ON EARLIER MODELS.THERE ARE SEVERAL SWITCHES THAT WILL CAUSE THIS, I REC YOU GET A DIAG AT YOUR MECH.
