1991 Dodge Spirit

Question: My check engine light is on. My friend said he was getting a fault code of 26?

I have replaced the alternater, belt, rotor and cap, spark plugs and plug wires. Maybe a bad fuel injecter? Not sure what fault code 26 is.

    Code 26 means that the peak injector circuit voltage has not been reached. Could be several things. Check cold injector resistance, it needs to be between .9 and 1.2 ohms on Throttle Body Injector engines. If the resistance is lower than this injector is shorted. Higher then it is open. Also be sure that the connector is good and the contacts are very clean.

    while car was idling I pulled one by one connecter off each injecter, there was one that made no change from when it was on and then pulled off and put back on. All the other injecters slowed down when disconnected and then increased when reconnected. Would it be safe to say that I could replace that injecter? try to clean it? I priced nthem at $35.Thank you soo much for time! You have been a great help!
