about three month ago my check engine light came on , then about a month later while gasing up with regular gas it went off. now three days ago it came back on . it there a reason why it went off and came bqack on. please explain.

MasterMany many things can bring on the light, you need a scan tool to retrieve codes stored in order to give advice. The computer constantly monitors the components in your car to see they are there and functioning within performance limits. If the fault goes away or was false the computer monitors the problem if it goes away the light turns itself off.
