I have a lexus LX470 year 1998 with 70K miles 1 month ago I got the check engine ligh on for the first time ever I have taken it to the dealer 3 times because the first two times they said it was a fault with the velocimeter then that is was juts a resetting issue and know they say I have to change the ECU. Two times they reset it and after one week the check engine came on again. I dont trust them and think there is really something else.

Whereas anything is possible, chances are your issues are complex and hard to duplicate during testing. Things like that can make looking competent difficult for a technician.
A second opinion will really help clear things up.
