My car has 160000 miles when I start it up it does good but 1/4 mile down the road the check engine light comes on and the car stalls or hesitates. If you pump the gas it sometimes stays running. We replaced the fuel pump, vaccuum hoses, and seals.it sounds lke a noise is comming from the throttle body when you try to start it back up.it also will stall and have a hard time starting sometimes.this happens about every other day.I have replaced a lot since I bought it and no one has a obd1 meter around here any info would help, thank you.
My cars check engine light turns on while driving and stalls out or hesitates on 1991 Toyota Corolla
you will have to check it for codes or just keep spending your money replacing parts

Had a similar issue, same mileage. Car would rum about 10 miles, CEL come on, then buck and stumble. Turned out that the heat from all the years of driving had weakened the distributor magnets, and ignition was iffy at times. This is OBD1 car and no reader is needed to extract codes. Short out check connector pins to get codes. Correct procedure is all over the web. If code is not ignition related then check fuel system, all vacuum hoses, and other basic maint. items. New distributor cured my problem.
