Question: My car will not start

 Rookie

I have a new battery and alternator but my car will not start. I place my key in the ignition all electronic systems appears to be working. My only is I need brakes. Why won't my car start?

  Does it turn over?
  Have you cleaned the battery terminals?
  Have you tried a spare key?
  Are you able to check for power at both terminals on the starter solenoid?
  Possibly starter motor, ignition switch, key, EWS control unit or cam sensor
