my car will not pass inspection because the evap monotor test says" not ready" on 2000 Cadillac DeVille

there is no mil lite and no codes, i went thru the test procedure Ie test drive, and the inspecton station says it still reads not ready. Does the evap test reset after engine turn off? Should i leave the engine running? should a proper inspection be done with a test drive? there are 2 other not ready tests also but i understand my car will passinspection even if 2 are failed. thanks i live in new york

Find some one with a tech2 scanner, they can run an evap test on your car and find the problem.
