Question: my car will not move, will shift but wont move,what could be the problem?

when i go to 1st it will shift but cant get it to go anywhere

    either the front pump failed or the torque converter has failed.

    CLUTCH SLIPPING,TRANS.DAMAGE,SHIFTER PROBLEM OR OTHER DRIVE LINE FAILUER.
    IF THIS IS A MANUAL TRANS. (?) ANY NOISE?

    Any strange noises? was an axle replaced recently, that may have popped out?
