1995 BMW 318i Question: My car is over heating.is the water pump in the engine block ?

I'd like to do it myself .is it possible ?

    Not possible. BMW has special tools for engine repair, just for this reason. Take it to a dealership for repair so you have piece of mind on warranty. DO NOT DRIVE IT IF IT IS OVERHEATING! It may be a simple repair, but driv8ng it while overheating will damage engine components very quickly.

    check for leakages on the expansion tank and radiator if there are no leakages then check if the themostat is working if any of these is faulty it may cause temp rise. replace these and you are good
