I had gotten a new alternator then 2 weeks later the car did not pass emissions. Drove around for a few weeks and still 2 areas are "not ready (EGR and Catalyst) I was told that each car has a certain procedure to do in order to get these 2 areas in the "ready" mode. Can you tell me what I need to do? Thank you!

Theres not going to be a single magic bullet to getting a car to pass. You're going to probably need to take your car someplace where they can give you a more specific indication of what might have problems -- though if the catalytic converter is a problem area that could get really expensive.

Answer #1, you are not even close to being right or knowing what you're speaking about.

There is DEFINITELY a specific way to get the ODBC to do a full drivecycle.

    here's the one for GM
