The brake lights do feed through the turn signal switch, but the headlights are a different circuit. The only possible common would be the dimmer switch. I don't remember if it's a combination switch, if so I would consider the switch, but I would do some circuit test to verify.

Im not a mechanic so i do not know what kind of test to do.this i just noticed online what the forums have in common.probpems with my car and what people have said and on a buick forum it had that as a way to test to see id it wad the turn signal switch was to pull it forward while holding the brakes in and if they thwn went on then it would be thw turn signal switch so i will try and replace that as it is the only solution i currwbtly know of

It would be okay for you to do that. In our position in working for the customer, we can't just replace parts without verification, or we have to either eat it or, hopefully not, lie to a customer. Good luck and let us know the positive results.

I'm not sure in NY. but you could also have a master cylinder issue or a leaking brake caliper/wheel cylinder. Try the Estimator or Find a Shop feature on the top of the page, and maybe give them a call about your situation, don't mention your finances, just check a price.

I found the leak it is where the naster cylinder and hydralic booster meet so there is probably a bad gasket also on the reaivour on the master cylinder where the top and bottom of resivour seal are so i will be replacing it tomorrow and also the hydralic booster and i will let you know what u figure out from there my brake lights is my only issue left and im not sure how to figure out what the issue is i called the buick dealer and they said the turn signals and brake lights are all wired togeather so i should try and replace the turn signal switch as this is a common part that needs to be replaced after 19 years one owner and 123k miles im sure they turned alot as they lived in the city and an older gentalmen owned the car the entire last 19 years and he bought it brand new and had it well maintained and then it sat for 6 months beforw being sold is why the master cylinder is needing to be replaced the gasket probably got dry rotted from sitting then being used aga8n so quickly also his mechanic must have skipped overchwcking brake fluid because it was bone dry qhen i got the vehicle and it takes a while for brake fluid to dry up without any sign of reeaidue behind the way it looked in my opinion that would be a mechanic error but who am i to say lol anyway i will keep you all informed and updated of what happens thank you for your time
