The aluminated a/c light stays on even when a/c is not running. What's the problem and will this drain my battery?

If the heater controls are set to defrost the a/c may operate to dehumidify the air directed up to the windscreen, it may be normal.

The heater control is not set to defrost. One day the A/c light came on and it has stayed on or blinked on and off, but still remains on. I just had to have a battery replaced that was only 2 years old and was just wondering if the a/c light being on for a month now draws enough amps from the battery to ruin a cell??
