2006 Dodge Magnum

 

Question: my 2006 dodge magnum with a 5.7l engine runns very rough, it wont idle corectly,

wont stay running, check engine light on, lightning bolt single on, traction control light on, when i step on the gas it bogs down, like if its not getting enough fuel and restricted exhaust?

    Well if vehicle won't run -start with taking out battery and have it checked at your local autozone. Your vehicles computer's primary source of power is battery. Voltage regulating controled by ECM. Also, check to see if vehicle has fuse for charging system- that lightning bolt indicates some type of charging problem (though again- START WITH BATTERY). If battery and fuses ok may want to consider taking off alternator for bench test. You got to hope one of those your problem cuz if charging issue could end up being problem within ECM.

    YEAH ALL THESE ICONS CAME ON AT ONCE WHEN PROBLEM ACUURED, BATTERY HAS BEEN CHARGED AND ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN CHECKED, IT WILL TURN ON THEN IDLE VERY HIGH THEN LOW, BUT NOT CONSISTANT THE NSHUT OFF, BUT STILL WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS IT BOGS DOWN

    these motors have valve guide issues that are common. ck for restricted exh to start with. also could be throttle body codes. that would explain the lights that are on. ck codes 1st and post
