It never varies, according to winter/summer season. Is this caused by a sensor that needs to be replaced.

most likely your gauge is bad and stuck on 127, you can test circuit to make sure

Thank you so much for your reply. Can you tell me where to check the circuit? I have a Chilton's book, so I can find it, if I know where to look!
I was worried my sensors actually thinks the temp is 127 and in winter might cause damage to engine etc. I do notice that in winter, my cars starts right up, but stalls immediately and I have to keep foot on gas to keep it running until it warms up some. I was thinking that might be caused by the brain thinking it's really 127. but it's probably just a winter thing! Thanks again! That relieves my mind.

the idle issue may be a bad idle air control valve. a quick ck can be done. unplugg idle air control while car is running rpm should drop like 50 rpm if not poss bad or vac leak. ck wwwalldata.com
