muffler on 1990 Buick Century

this is for a 1987 buick century limited. we need to know how to replace the muffler. can you tell me if the pipes have to be welded together or use clamps. please let me know the lowest economical way of doing and a shop in our area

Any decent muffler shop should be able to do this. Welding it in is usually cheaper than a 'direct fit' approach. As far as cost, it depends on how much pipe is rusted out. I would say a decent muffler and some pipe welded in should go for about $100-150.
