Question: Most vehicles when changing the brakes you push the caliper in to fit back over

the new pads, but on Beetle you turn clockwise w/special tool. Are there threads inside of these "clockwise calipers"?, and if so, how do they work with pressure?, because that's usually how calipers work.

    Many cars have calipers that the pistons reequire a tool to rotate the piston back to its starting position. This I have seen only on the rear brake calipers. This enables adjustement for the park brake as the brake pads wear.
