Mitsubishi i-MiEV Recalls

Air Bags May Not Deploy In An Accident

The frontal air bags may delay deployment and the side curtain air bags may not deploy at all due to a fault of the impact sensors. Dealers will replace the affected impact sensors free of charge to resolve the concern.

Brakes May Require Extra Effort

The brake vacuum pump may stop working due to a software issue or corrosion from road salt. This can cause extra braking effort and longer braking distances. Dealers will reprogram the brake vacuum pump controller and if necessary replace the brake vacuum pump free of charge to resolve the concern.

Power Assist of the Brakes May Fail

All modern braking systems use some type power assist. These vehicles use a vacuum pump to provide power assist to the braking system and some of these vacuum pumps can fail prematurely, causing reduced braking performance. This can result in increased stopping distances and therefore increasing the risk of a crash. Mitsubishi dealers will replace the effected vacuum pumps to correct this concern.
