Potential Fuel Leak From Fuel Pump Return Hose Fitting
A fuel leak may develop at the fuel return hose fitting at the fuel pump. A fuel leak always increases the risk of a fire.
Please contact your Mitsuhishi dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The fuel return line fitting on the fuel pump may have been improperly molded. Breakage could result in a fuel leak. Any fuel leak increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will replace the fuel pump to correct this concern. This recall began on July 26, 2004. The Mitsubishi recall number is SR-04-007.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FUEL RETURN LINE HOSE FITTING ON THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP MAY BE IMPROPERLY MOLDED.
BREAKAGE COULD RESULT IN A LEAKAGE OF FUEL AND IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, IT COULD RESULT A FIRE.
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 26, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MITSUBISHI AT 1-800-222-0037.
