i have a 2000 a4 1.8t quattro out of no where i lost power and it would not run and the check eng. light was on so i got it scanned and it came up a miss fire on 2, 3, 4 what could be happening to make this miss

Its hard to tell without being able to do some basic diagnostic tests. Have you lost spark or fuel to those cylinders? Check for obvious vacuum leaks. A professional grade scan tool read raw sensor data without having to intrusively teat each sensor, I would look at Oxygen sensor reading, fuel trim figures Long and Short term and air flow meter air volume readings.
