What is the minimum recommended rear, disc-brake pad thickness?

    When the rear pads are as thin as the metal backing plate on the pads, I like to replace them, this is about 3-4 millimeters.

    Thanks. I seem to remember reading 3/16" somewhere - which is similar to your recommendation.
    The Autozone repair guide listed something like 0.03" as a minimum thickness which I thought was WAY to thin!
