Car has passed the 60,000 mile mark - recommended service light is on - what is the recommended service at this point? Car new to me. Have no mini mechanic in Seattle,Wa yet - any recommendations? |

just bought a used mini cooper s.before purchasing I read all of the most common issues with them,one being power steering pump failure.After driving a while and returning home,the fan stayed on for about 3 minutes.Now this is my wife telling me so I don't know which fan it was.Is it normal,like some vehicles fan will come on after vehicle is off for additional cooling,or should there never be key off fan operation?I am a ford tech,and am used to things like relays sticking or pcms failing. |

Research all over the net shows early problem onset & frequency & high maintenance costs. My Hondas/Acuras/Toyotas easily went past 100k w/oil, battery & tire changes. Don't expect this from MINI but what *is* realistic in terms of the hatchback model's repair? Better in 2012? Is the costly maintenance upgrade package a necessity w/this car? Also, to increase stability, is it best to go from standard 15" wheels/tires to the 16" or 17" options...and add the... |
