Milstead Car Care has a great message for their customers to count on: The most important word in our name is "care." And they definitely back it up. All Top Shops have experienced technicians, but not all of them have four technicians who are all ASE certified (three are master techs) and have a combined 92 years of experience between them. Open since 1980, this ASE Blue Seal shop boasts strong affiliations with the major players in the auto industry and is also an emissions testing and repair center. Open on Saturdays, they also offer a 24-month or 24,000-mile warranty on their repairs.

  They were able to service my Dodge motor home. I was very satisfied about that because there's not a lot of people around to do it.

  I called these people for a quote to replace the U-Joints on a 1999 Toyota Forerunner, 2 wheel drive and they wanted nearly $500. This is a Repairpal recommended shop?!?!?!? Come on. The Repairpal quote said $200. What a load of crap. I will never take my car to this place.

  They were very polite and they were waiting for me the minute I got in there. It was very clean, like a place I could sit down, and it made me comfortable. They explained things well too. They told me what I needed to have done, but it didn't need to be done right now. I didn't feel pressured. I could get it done in the future.

  I went there for four years as maintenance was required. Every time it was a $400 to $500 estimate. I complained about my cruise control running out and it still cuts out on me. That was never fixed. They should have a computer like a dealer has. My brakes were squeaking every time and that was never corrected.

  They were very friendly people. I had no issues at all. I think they treated me fairly and they diagnosed the issue with the vehicle. I just felt bad because there were so many things wrong, but they told me the truth.

  $800 Fuel Pump!!
  Milstead charged me dealership pricing to replace a fuel pump in my 1996 pickup!
  Since they charge $90 to diagnose the problem I felt stuck to have them do the work.
  After hearing they where charging $800 to change my fuel pump I checked 2 local car dealers pricing. Milstead was within $30 of both dealer quotes! I tried to get the manager to let me provide the fuel pump since I could buy one almost $200 cheaper than what they charged, but he refused!! I checked with Texas Auto Pro down the street from them and I could have gotten my fuel pump replaced for $465!!!!!! I relayed all this information to the manager but he didnn't blink an eye an said that his price was worth it since all is mechanics where certified and had patches on their shirts!! Stay away from this place unless you can afford and like paying car dealership prices!!!!!!!

  Recently, I made an engine service job with this company. They replaced my timing belt without calling me or permission that they are going to replace it. The belt they replaced has less than 4k miles service on it.

  Teh guys atthis shop were extremely helpful to me when my car broke down and was in need of repairs. The service guy was extremely helpful and knew a lot more than i did about what was wrong with my car. If you ever need maintenance or repairs you should give them a try. they are great guys and so friendly and helpful & the repairs werem't too expensive either
