I'm looking at one that has 124k on it, how much can I expect out of it? And is that a normal miliage for that year? They want around $4k. Thanks for any input, Kim

Look at www.kbb.com it is free and gives a good idea of a car's valuation. The car is 7 years old, any car is only reliable or good value if it has been properly maintained and cared for. I would not recommend buying any car without getting a pre-purchase inspection done by a automotive repair shop knowledgeable with that make of vehicle, (it is money well spent and defects found or needed maintenance can be used to negotiate price). If buying privately I would like to see all the past service history documentation that the previous owner has, dealerships and second hand car lots usually throw this documentation out to protect the privacy of the previous owner.

I have a 2000 and I bought it with 104,000 on it and it currently has 226,000 on it and still going!!! Love my car..but again it depends on how well its been taken care of and if you keep up the maintenance it should last a long time! :)
