2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 Question: MILDEW...MOLD ODOR?

Question

PER THE COMMON PROBLEMS SECTION, I READ THAT "THE HEATER box is susceptible to mildew buildup"
MY 2007 CLK CABRIOLET LITERALLY 'STINKS' AND SEEMS MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN DRIVING TOP UP OR TOP DOWN...TRIED THE USUAL ANTI-ODOR PRODUCTS...A LITTLE BETTER BUT SMELL STILL THERE.
HOW DO I TREAT THE HEATER BOX IN EVENT MILDEW IS PRESENT AND WHAT CHEMICALS SHOULD I USE AND HOW TO APPLY THEM AND WHERE...HOW DO I GET THE MILDEW 'KILLER' INTO THE HEATER BOX? THE FORMER OWNER ADMITTED THAT SHE GOT CAUGHT IN RAGING RAIN STORM WITH STREETS FLOODED, ETC. IN MIAMI,FL...I BELIEVE WATER/MOISTURE INVADED THE CAR WHEN THAT OCCURRED.
A DETAILER SUGGESTED AN OZONE GENERATOR TO KILL ANY MOLD IN THE CABIN.
THANK YOU.

Go to the dealer and get the proper chemical. I used to spray bleach in the Heater intake vents in the cowl with the heater on, but I am concerned that it may damage your interior in a Mercedes.
