The brake work done on my car (which I agree needed to be done and was why I brought the car to Midas) was competitively priced (for a national chain), done on time (the same day, notwithstanding the Noreaster starting that pummeled the east coast that day) and qualitatively. However, after the brake work was done and a persistent noise remained the car was checked again (a couple of days later, though the noise was reported right after leaving the shop on a Friday, I returned on Monday at the suggestion of the shop manager). I was told tie-rods (all 4 in front) and bearings (front left and front right) needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately $1500. Thereafter, a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinion (3 other shops) suggested only the right front bearing needed replacement and that the tie-rods were fine despite 'looking bad' visually (other shops did a more invasive review of the tie rods). The front right bearing replacement was done by a local shop for $210 not $1500 as quoted by Midas. Granted, none of this would retard my choice in the future of considering Midas (for brake work) or recommending them, as their price was the best for a national brake service shop. Everyone was respectful, personable, and willing to explain in absolute detail answers to questions I had. Midas will just never be my 'go to shop' for all things, just what they are competitive on, period.

Professionals all around. They really took the time to help me repair my car with options that their competitor across the street were unwilling to work with. Dave is top notch with my car. I have to have more and costlier work done to my car very soon but I know it is worth it because they set expectations up front, have been very honest, thorough and transparent and appreciate my business. They have integrity and it shows with the customers that come in looking for him specifically to help them.

The only thing I had a problem with was the confusion with the payments. I was confused with a couple of things and then all of the sudden they could not inspect my tires because they were old. I don't think that the service is what it should be but overall it was good.
It was fast, and they did an update on the interior. The customer service was great.
It's just that I like them. I think it is a nice place. They do a good job. I just had one little issue. I forget what it was. They didn't give an explanation, they just didn't want to do it. I thought that was strange.

Midas is a good company, they find the problems, they are pretty good mechanics. They do a check all over the vehicle and let you know, they save your parts and what they changed.

I was charged $360 for a state inspection, emissions and for replacing the 3rd brake light (LED). Part cost $120 over the phone but $140 on the receipt. There was an additional charge for "research done to diagnose" that a light bulb not working meant requiring a replacement and could have been wiring issues. So even though the research did not produce anything more than a replacement light, I'm being charged for a mechanic that didn't know to just replace the light that doesn't work.
