Question: Mice in the air condioontal filter - a smell that you can not get rid of.

Paid 254.00 to have dead mice removed from my carn on 6-10-2010 and they are back again. I can not get rid of the horrible smell.

    This is a very difficult situation. You may need to have the climate system removed and cleaned to get rid of this smell. I would try finding a shop that specializes in A/C work, they often work with odors coming from the A/C system and may have the equipment needed to address this.

    just had a 7inch + tail Norway rat pulled out of 2009 Avalon AC system. Dealer tried to tell us it was our fault because it was "parked near water". THis wasn't a fish we are talking about. It was a full grown rat that had free reign of the AC ductwork on both sides of the cabin air filter. I found about a 2" diameter hole where the cowling under the windshield is not sealed right by the hood hinge on driver side where a rat could easily get in. This appears to be an oversight on Toyot's part. I should be able to park in a field infested with rats and although they my get into the engine compartment, they should never have easy access to the entier AC duct system inside the cabin.
