Mercedes-Benz E350 4MATIC Recalls
The passenger frontal air bag assembly is deployed by an inflator which contains propellant that makes the air bag deploy. This propellant may degrade over time, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature cycling. As a result, the inflator may rupture on deployment, which can send metal shrapnel through the air bag, striking vehicle occupants. This could result in serious injury or death.
The inflator that deploys the driver's frontal air bag in the event of an accident may rupture and spray metal fragments onto vehicle occupants. This can increase risk of serious injury or death.
A fitting that joins the fuel hose and fuel feed line may develop a leak or completely disconnect. This can cause a fire hazard, fuel odor and potentially stall the engine while operating the vehicle.
The rubber seal that goes around the engine compartment and fastens to the bulkhead may come loose, and could fall into the engine compartment. This could cause a risk of fire.
A rubber seal under the hood at the back of the engine bay may temporarily stick to the hood when it is opened, and then fall into the engine bay when closed. This can result in the rubber seal contacting hot exhaust parts, and result in a fire.
The center position rear seatbelt may not properly secure the passenger in the event of a crash.
On certain station wagon models, a connecting rod for the load leveling rear suspension system may fail. This could result in reduced vehicle control.
A piece of the front engine pulley could break loose unexpectedly. Injury could result if the engine is running and the hood is open when this occurs.
