Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG Recall 08V242000
Trailer Hitch Welds May Not Be Sufficient
Vehicles equipped with the Flex-N-Gate trailer hitch feature a hitch receiver welded to an attachment bar. This then bolts to the frame as the trailer hitch. There is concern that the weld that attaches the receiver to the bar may be insufficient in strength. The hitch could come apart, which could become a road hazard.
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall. Please contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The weld on the trailer hitch assembly may be insufficient and not support a load. If the hitch weld failed, a load may separate from the vehicle, causing a road hazard. Dealers will repair the trailer hitch. The Mercedes-Benz recall number is 2008050004. This recall began during June, 2008.
