2009 Mercedes-Benz ML550 Recalls
The inflator that deploys the driver's frontal air bag in the event of an accident may rupture and spray metal fragments onto vehicle occupants. This can increase risk of serious injury or death.
Recalls on your affected Chrysler or Mercedes-Benz vehicle must be performed by the respective Chrysler or Mercedes-Benz dealership. Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz will notify owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local appropriate Chrysler or Mercedes-Benz dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
Water in the spare tire area could cause the control unit for the power lift gate to fail and overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
This should be considered a high priority recall. The power lift gate control module could be damaged without warning. Please contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
