I did not receive this recall notice. Does this recall cover the GL 550? My GL550 is literally in the shop today because of a blown power steering seal..it dropped all of the power steering fluid. The seal alone cannot be replaced, but the whole rack and pinion system for $3000!!! I am in shock and really upset....2008 with 62,000 miles on it..this should never happen with the best on the road today.

2008 ML320CDI,35000 mi. Told by dealer steering rack leaking and must replace entire rack - $4880 quoted. Vehicle warranty expired 30 days ago! Somehow dealer did not pick up on leak while under warranty, only 30 days after warranty expired. Pissed to say the least!

I have an ML350 model year 2008. It has over 90,000 miles but I have just been told that I need to replace the entire steering rack! It has a fluid leak. No recall notice here either and the dealers< I visited two, did the usual MB thing and acted surprised.

I just found that Steering leak happened to my ML320 CDI 2008 as well. These 2008 models seems to be lemon and Mercedes should do something about it.

2008 Ml 320. 75,000 miles and the steering fluid is leaking. Quoted $3400 to replace it. I have added two bottles of power steering sealer and it seems to had no effect. I top off the fluid every two weeks but it is making a mess of my driveway. I cant justifiy the repair cost but based on all the complants I will be trading to a Toyota SUV. Obviously, by all the complaints they sold a defective part and they DONT'T CARE.

I just bought a used ML 350 30 days ago with 48,000 mi and I noticed, while changing the oil that the steering rack box is leaking fluid. I wonder if they will fix it under their Limited 60 day warranty. I'll find out this week. Stay tuned...
