The inflator that deploys the driver's frontal air bag in the event of an accident may rupture and spray metal fragments onto vehicle occupants. This can increase risk of serious injury or death.
Recalls on your affected Chrysler or Mercedes-Benz vehicle must be performed by the respective Chrysler or Mercedes-Benz dealership. Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz will notify owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local appropriate Chrysler or Mercedes-Benz dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
A Diesel fuel leak may develop from the area around the fuel heater component of the fuel filter.
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners of affected vehicles during November 2011. If you are experiencing a Diesel fuel leak, or you don't receive notification and feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
