Mercedes-Benz E350 Recall 11V213000
Piece May Break Off Front Engine Pulley
A piece of the front engine pulley could break loose unexpectedly. Injury could result if the engine is running and the hood is open when this occurs.
This could be considered a medium priority recall; however, the engine should not be operated with the hood open until this recall is complete. Please contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer; they will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you as to what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
Forty-one vehicles may have a front engine pulley that was manufactured with an insufficient adhesive where the inner mass damper ring attaches to the vibration damper. If the inner ring were to separate with the hood open and the engine running, personal injury could result. Dealers will inspect and replace the affected parts to correct this issue. This recall is expected to begin during April of 2011.
