Crank but No Start Condition and No Spark
If the engine cranks but will not start, it may be due a failed distributor. In the diagnosis, it may be discovered that the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) Unit is the cause if ignition spark is restored after disconnecting the Spark Output (SPOUT) Connector.
Knocking from suspension on rough roads due to worn or loose sway bar links
A knocking sound heard from the front or rear suspension while driving over rough roads may be caused by the sway bar linkages. The linkages should be inspected for tightness and condition; there are redesigned linkages if replacement is necessary.
Misfires Under Load
Misfires under load (acceleration) can be caused by leaky spark plug boots. When a spark plug boot leaks, it allows the spark to arc, or jump, to the cylinder head. New spark plug wires will be needed.
Crank but No Start Condition and No Fuel Pressure
If the engine cranks but does not start, it may be caused by a tripped inertia switch. Switch the key to "ON" and the fuel pump should be heard running for a second or two. Listen at the gas filler if necessary. If you do not hear the pump the inertia switch should be reset, it will "click" when it is reset.

SHAKING AND SHUTTERING ON IDLE
Really 1988, I thought this was alignment maybe but a friend mentioned that one side may be the "drive" side of the axle which is split (?). I have had new tires and alignment done a year ago but ...
After car is started and shift lever moved to forward or reverse, nothing happens.there is no response at all. Is there a mechanical or electronic link to the transmision?

had front brakes installed. bled brakes , removed master cylinder and cleaned it out . pedal still goes to floor. my mechanic told me master cylinder needs to be replaced and other mechanic that gave me 2nd opinion and cleaned master cylinder told me master cylinder was good but could not figure it out . he also bled brakes and problem is still the same. looks like new brake pads are still stuck on rotors but pedal still goes to floor . I,m in desparate need of help here. can anyone help me on this issue?
My mazda mx6 was running well until last week when i went to change gear into drive it turned off. it turns on ok and when i change gear it turns off took it to the shop and they dont know whats wrong with it ! somebody know what can be wrong ?

i think its a great car.the distributors ignitor goes at 60-80k ,but the replacement ones last longer
I actually have a 1988 model and it has been a great car. I bought it used 1 year ago from a meticulous owner who recorded every gasoline purchase and kept the vehicle garaged. It is fun to drive, quick up to speed, feels very sporty driving, solid body, good paint life, very comfortable seats, ergonomic, way ahead of its time at the time. It is completely dead right now but my battery was very corroded as well as the battery cables. Really not the cars fault.
