Mazda is a leading Japanese automaker. Formally Toyo Kogyo, Mazda produced weapons for the Japanese military during World War II, specifically the Type 99 rifle. Mazda gets its name from the god of light, intelligence and wisdom, Ahura Mazda, as well as its founder Jujiro Matsuda. The current Mazda logo was introduced in 1997 and features the winged "M," showing Mazda stretching its wings for the future.
