Okay I have a 2000v40 1.9t and I need to change the map sensor. Can someone tell where it is at? I have surfed the web, without success, and need a detailed description of its location. Volvo parts are expensive enough and I do all the labor, but I am strictly an amateur so all the technical terms are wasted on me. One site claimed it was on top of the manifold, another under the air filter!!! Help Me and pics are great!

    The engine uses a mass air flow meter to tell the computer how much air is being drawn into the engine. It is attached to the intake air duct/ air filter housing, secured by 2 # 25 Torx screws. Look at www.rockauto.com they usually have good illustrations of parts. There is a company that independent auto repair shops buy their information from that the same information inexpensively to do it yourselfers. The information is year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....     Well I have already removed and cleaned the MAF and it is working correctly. I am looking for the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor. It has eluded me so far but I am determine :)

    It sits on the manifold. You need to remove the fuel rail cover to get access to it. Post your e-mail and I'll send you everything you need to know about it.

    That would be great! w0207936@selu.edu. I even called the local Volvo dealer and they couldn't tell me where it was at!

    WOW! The dealer couldn't tell? Why it doesn't surprise me? One of our local Volvo dealer had no idea of Volvo TSBs.. It kind of sad when you need to tow your car to an independent shop because the dealership has no idea how to fix it. I received cars for this reason from a Volvo and a BMW dealership before.
    Check your e-mail. The MAP info should be there already.
