1995 Ford Ranger Question: manual trans difficult to shift; clutch pedal soft. clutch or slave cylinder?

when depressing the clutch pedal there's nothing there, it's very soft

    You chould try bleeding system first. Could be air in system. The slave cylinder requires transmission removal and in that case a new clutch, slave, and master cylinder is the common fix.

    agree with miles, once you start you just as well repl the wholeassm and be done for 50k miles
