after I had filled up my car and turned it on the malfunction lite was on

    If the malfunction light you are talking about is the Check Engine light, there are many reasons that light can come on. The most common cause of the light coming on after a fill up is the gas cap is not completely tight. I suggest tightening the gas cap and after two or three days of starting and driving your vehicle the light should go out by itself. If it does not then I recommend bringing your vehicle in for a diagnostic check. Let us know if we can help 916-315-0555
