Is it really necessary to have the 30,000 mile blue special done to my car. I have regular oil changes done and have not had a problem. My local Toyota retailer says I need to have this done and it will cost $500.

What service do they include for $500, Check your owners manual and see what it calls for at 30,000 miles, the guide says change oil and filter, replace air cleaner, replace cabin air filter, replace fluid in transfer gearbox, re torque bolts on the driveshaft and rotate tires dosn't sound like $500.
