Maintenance II

OVERVIEW

*Note - This is a general guide to what is performed on your GM vehicle. Inspections and procedures will vary depending on your specific model

GM recommends the Maintenance II service is performed when :

  • The "Change Oil Soon" message comes on within 10 months of the vehicle purchase
  • Maintenance I was the last service performed

During Maintenance II the following services are performed:

  • Change the engine oil and filter
  • Rotate tires and check inflation pressures and wear
  • Replace the passenger compartment air filter (Cabin Air Filter)
  • Reset oil life system
  • Visually inspect the vehicle for leaks or damage
  • Inspect engine air cleaner filter – replace as needed
  • Perform brake system inspection
  • Check engine coolant and windshield washer fluid levels – add fluid as needed
  • Inspect the steering and suspension systems
  • Inspect the wiper blades
  • Inspect restraint system components
  • Lubricate body components
  • Check and adjust the transmission fluid level as needed
  • Inspect the throttle system
  • Perform any needed additional services - see below

During the life of your vehicle, other services will need to be performed on your vehicle during the Maintenance I and II services, and these services are based on time and mileage.

25,000 Miles/75,000 Miles/125,000 Miles

  • Inspection of the Fuel System for damage or leaks
  • Inspection of the Exhaust System for loose or damaged components

50,000 Miles

100,000 Miles

150,000 Miles

Severe Service:
GM recommends more frequent changing of the automatic transaxle fluid and filter if the
vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions:

  • In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90°F (32°C) or higher
  • In hilly or mountainous terrain
  • When doing frequent trailer towing
  • Uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery service
