The dealer should have told you an estimate for the job, so call back the service writer and ask them for a quote. Just doing the bushings will be much cheaper.

Just went through this on my own 1997 Mercedes E320. To replace the lower control arms on the front of the car is very expensive compared to replacing the lower bushings and ball joints if you can find someone to perform the labor at a reasonable price. For a lower control arm, the cost of the part is about $750 per arm (need 2). However, the part for the lower bushing is only about $75 each (need 2) and $35 each for the lower ball joint (need 2) plus 4 nuts for the ball joint (about $2.25 each). The key is if you can find someone to perform the labor of the work for a decent price. The time it should take to replace the lower bushings and ball joints should be around 4 to 5 hours total. Hopefully, you can find someone to do the work at about $50 to $65 an hour. A good price for replacing lower bushings and ball joints including labor should be around $450 and up. However, if you go to the dealer expect to pay for parts and labor around $1100 to $1200 or more. I suggest buying the parts at Napa Auto Parts and then finding a good mechanic who will perform the work at the above price. If you need more info, you can call me on my cell (805) 660-4487.....good luck!

the control arm its about 746$ from dealer but from us its low price its just you have to wait like 7days the job is about 4 to 5 hours in dealer its 150$ a hour that if evry thing around still good like bull joint and ... so i think you should order the part and look for chip mechanic and will cost you less than mercedes dealer for sure .
