2005 Chevrolet Impala Q&A
2005 Chevrolet Impala Question: Low Oil Pressure Light
There is an oil pressure sending unit that threads into the engine to measure the pressure. This is also typically where a manual pressure gauge can be installed to check it out for the accurate pressure reading. Low oil pressure can be from an oil flow issue, such as even a faulty oil filter. It can be from improper oil viscosity. It can be from sludge build up in the oil pump pick up. It can be from a faulty oil pump. Hard to say until you get the base reading. Good luck. - DaveJHM
I've had it a little over a month and just very recently had the oil changed by Wal-Mart and only then did the oil pressure low light start coming on and wasn't very often but it's starting to come...
the low oil pressure warning light comes on intermittently while driveing. may stay on for 3 seconds or 45 minutes. checked oil level is full, no leaks. thought maybe oil sending unit?
What will turn the warning signal light off?
