There is an oil pressure sending unit that threads into the engine to measure the pressure. This is also typically where a manual pressure gauge can be installed to check it out for the accurate pressure reading. Low oil pressure can be from an oil flow issue, such as even a faulty oil filter. It can be from improper oil viscosity. It can be from sludge build up in the oil pump pick up. It can be from a faulty oil pump. Hard to say until you get the base reading. Good luck.
