MY GTP IS ALWAYS RUNNING COLD. I DO UNDERSTAND THE THE COLD SUBZERO TEMPS WE ARE EXPERIENCING HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT BUT THE CAR NEVER GETS ABOUVE 160DEG. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON?

It sounds as if your 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix has a stuck open thermostat. If this is the case the service engine soon light may also be on as a result. Your Grand Prix should have a 195 degree thermostat and the normal operating temperature of the engine should be right around that number.

I have the exact same problem... thermostat was/is fine. I even went as far as to flush the system and replace the thermostat anyway just in case (yes, it is the OE temp thermostat rated to 195). Not to mention, I take care of this car like it's my child -- I keep up on all maintenance myself. Please help if you have any other ideas!
