CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WAS DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE - DROVE 1/2 MILE WHEN THE KNOCKING STARTED AS A PINGING TO A POUNDING. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE KNOCKING WAS SUPER LOUD. CHECKED FUSES, CHECKED OIL, CHECKED COOLANT, LISTEN TO ENGINE AREAS WITH SCREWDRIVE 'TO THE EAR' COULDNT PICK UP WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM - SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS COING FROM RIGHT UNDER THE MANIFOLD. THIS IS A 32VALVE NORTHSTAR ENGINE - ANY SUGGESTIONS? 64K SECOND OWNER MAINTANCE RECORDS FOR EVERYTHING AT EVERY INTERVAL.
