1994 Ford Mustang Question: Loud clanking noise in engine

My car began making a loud clanking noise a couple of days ago. It's pretty steady and begins right when I start it up. I have oil pressure issues about 5 months ago and a friend was able to repair it for a while. I think this is directly related to the same issue. We found that the original oil pump was not the issue so my friend removed the timing chain cover and fixed the oil presure valve. He also took steel wool to smooth out the valve cylider. Now we're not sure what the problem is.

could be damage from the time of no pressure. have it checked by a shop. sounds like you are going to replace motor.
