Volkswagen Beetle TDI Loss of Power Due to Oil and Carbon Build Up in Intake Manifold

(8 reports)

Oil and carbon tend to build up, creating restrictions in the intake manifold. Symptoms will be loss of power (sometimes severe) and poor fuel economy.

Had loss of power and black smoke. intake was 90% plugged. easy fix 2hrs now runs like new. used round wire brushes don't let build up go down the intake. Pull the junk to you. -
