Question: Loss of power and shuttering

On my way home today my car started losing power and began to sputter a bit. It never stalled out, but it lost almost all of its acceleration power. What might this be?

    1 you may have bad fuel filter or2 you need to check your spark plugs and wire or if your Mil light comes on its need to be scanned for codes and check fuel p/s it will do that if your timing belt is old and jump timing but not likely
