loosing oil pressure on 2004 Dodge Dakota

My truck began loosing oil pressure yesterday. I heard the lifters and i turn truck off. I have not started since. This happen on 01-10-11

Did you only hear the lifters or the low oil pressure warning came on also? I'd test the oil pressure with a mechanical pressure tester to see what's the actual pressure. If the engine has sludge, carbon deposit and gunk, the screen on the oil pick up tube could be restricted, of course it could also have internal problem and the engine might needs to be rebuild or replaced.
