My 1996 sebring needs to crank 10 to 20 seconds before it will start. This happens all the time, summer /winter /hot /cold. I've changed the plugs and fuel filter. Please help with a solution before it wont start at all.

Have a qualified shop check to see if losing fuel pressure in the system after shut down. Sounds like it is and then has to build back up to start. If I remember there was problems with fuel rails at injectors on these vehicles. Good luck.

thank you for your help. lets see if i understand: (1) the fuel system should retain pressure after shutdown. (2) It could be losing pressure at the injectors,at the fuel pump or anywhere in between. although there is no smell of gas anywhere. This should eliminate the in between. (3) So my problem might not be the fuel pump. Correct?
