We were waiting, had the a/c running on high, after about 30 mins headed out and the car started to sputter, would not accelerate. Could only go about 20 without any problems. RPM shot up, so had a diagnostic done said it was the coolant temp sensor, the person that had done the diagnostic said that the sensor is reading (hypothetically speaking) 180' in the engine when it's only 75' outside. something to that effect. So all i need to know is where the sensor is located on a 2004 Mazda6. Greatly appreciated!!!!!

2004 Mazda Mazda6 Question: Location of coolant temperature sensor, don't know where it is?????

The engine coolant will be much hotter than the outside temperature, and 180 sounds about right. I don't know where the sensor is but if you have the new one you should be able to locate it on the cylinder head. Look near where the upper hose goes into the engine, it may be in that area.
